Distribuida por Newspaper Enterprise Association, la tira se public\u00f3 entre el domingo 6 de noviembre de 1938 y 1965. Dibujada con un estilo realista, esta serie de aventuras se centra en el vaquero pelirrojo Red Ryder que, con la ayuda del hu\u00e9rfano indio Little Beaver (Castorcito en Hispanoam\u00e9rica) y del sheriff Newt, recorre el Salvaje Oeste para luchar contra diversos bandidos. Harman ya hab\u00eda producido una tira c\u00f3mica del oeste de 1934 a 1938 con un joven vaquero pelirrojo llamado Bronc Peeler.
